The APICS Student Chapter is dedicated to providing students with leadership developmental activities and knowledge opportunities in business operations management.

About APICS

APICS The Association for Operations Management is the global leader and premier source of the body of knowledge in operations management, including production, inventory, supply chain, materials management, purchasing, and logistics. Since 1957, individuals and companies have relied on APICS for its superior training, internationally recognized certifications, comprehensive resources, and worldwide network of accomplished industry professionals.

The student chapter is part of the APICS organization. At the student chapter level we help begin your introduction to APICS opportunities, through the sponsorship of our parent chapter APICS Treasure Valley. Opportunities range from industry networking, educational opportunities, community support, and supply chain resources to name a few. Student Advisor

Dr. Tom Gattiker

Tom Gattiker, PhD, CFPIM is Assistant Professor of Operations Management at Boise State University where he teaches operations management and supply chain management.

His research interests include the use of information and internet technology in operations and supply chain management, environmental purchasing, and negotiations. His research appears in The Journal of Operations Management, The International Journal of Production Research, MIS Quarterly, Information and Management, Production and Inventory Management Journal, Quality Management Journal, Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education and other journals and books. He is co-editor of the upcoming special issue on innovative data sources in the Journal of Operations Management. He was the 1999 APICS Education and Research Foundation George and Marion Plossl Fellow.

Before obtaining his Ph.D. from the University of Georgia, he held a variety of positions in operations and inventory management, most recently at Rockwell Automation/Reliance Electric. He is certified in production and inventory management by the APICS The Association for Operations Management and he is a past president of that organization's Athens, Georgia chapter. He enjoys activities involving mountains, gravity and his family--ideally all at the same time. See his BSU Website for more information.
